warm up exercises for SUP (Stand Up Paddling)

SUP WARMUP EXERCISE 1: ARM ROTATION 

  • single and dual arm rotation
  • leading with your thumb
  • shoulders down and back
  • rotate your arm back, at the top, turn your hand
  • arm nach oben hinten führen, oben die Hand drehen und nach unten ziehen
  • gradually get faster
  • change direction
  • change arm
  • change direction
  • if you are very well coordinated, try with both arms in opposite direction!


SUP WARM UP EXERCISE 2: ARM ROTATION 2

  • start by relaxing your shoulders
  • cross your arms
  • lean forward and backward


 SUP WARMUP EXERCISE 3: CROSS BODY LUNGE

This exercise is great for warm-up as it activates almost all your body muscles

  • do a walking lunge and bring an arm rotation into it
  • if you are really good, try the same thing backwards!

The videos were shot right after Annabel’s victory in the London Boat Show Indoor SUP sprint challenge. So please excuse the chaotic setting, we decided to prioritize the quality of the exercises over high-end production!
