On the weekend of July 9th a SUP race will take place in beautiful Venice. The race is an 8km race and starts on Saturday at 5PM, there are 2 classes, open men and open women. The entry fee is 30 EUR.
Program
Saturday, July 9th, 2011:
Promotional Demo day at “Bluemoon” beach at the Lido island of Venice, stands of sponsors and qualified instructors ISA and IOSUP available for testing in water for everybody.
From 10:00 to 13:00 Accreditation for participants to national championship race “Surfing Italia”.
National competition is to be held in the afternoon at 17:00 at the Club Nautico S. Marco. These guys will follow and help the race with their fleet of traditional Venetian rowing boat. Big news this year: the event is fully sustainable: no engine boats allowed to follow the races and the parade.
At 20:00 awards of the race at Bluemoon Contest. A party on the beach will follow the awards.

Sunday, July 10th, 2011:
Morning:
Meeting point: Scalo Fluviale at Tronchetto at 10:00
At 11:00 SUP Paradeon Canal Grande, in small groups led by the traditional boats of the rowing club Settemari, will arrive in front of the Arsenal, passing in front of St Mark square. At the Arsenal a refreshment awaits the party.
Afternoon:
Nissan RRd Surfin’ Venice SUP race, the international competition by Roberto Ricci.
To follow: awards and the traditional twinning between the Venetian row and the Paddle Surf.

- Drive to the very end of the bridge that links Venice with the mainland, make a right to Tronchetto island to get to the ferry boat boarding.
- By ferry boat service you can reach Lido island with your own car in 30 minutes. Ticket price depends on car dimension, from € 10,00 to € 20,00 for one way.
FROM VENICE “SANTA LUCIA” RAILWAY STATION
- Out of the station, on the right, there is the boat boarding for line 51 that takes you to Lido island terminal S. Maria Elisabetta in 36 minutes. Departing at minutes 5 – 25 – 45. Ticket € 6,50.
- At Lido island terminal (Santa Maria Elisabetta) get Bus line A or B, direction Alberoni (ask the driver to stop at Ca’ del Moro) or line V (last stop). Ticket € 1,10.
