The SUP 11-city Tour over a total distance of 220km is one of the longest and most demanding SUP Races. It take place over 5 stages in 5 days. It is a journey, an ultimate challenge through 11 authentic villages of Friesland (the northern province of the Netherlands). The tour is along the original waterways where ice skaters created this historical tour 101 years ago.
The 2012 date for the fabulous Elevencity Tour has just been announced: September 4th to 8th! This year, the SUP 11-City Tour will be a qualifying event for WPA World Championships! “The WPA and SUP 11-City Tour are glad to announce that 30% of the finished elite participants have a spot in the WPA World Championships in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico on November 3 & 4, 2012 (distance race).
This means that by an entry of 50 elite paddlers in the SUP 11-City Tour, the top 15 is invited.
This is a great opportunity for International paddlers who have not been able to participate in any of the WPA qualifying events. The SUP 11-City Tour is known by now as “the hardest race in the world”. Byron Kurt, founder of the WPA knows this first hand being the winner of the invitational SUP 11-City Tour 2009.”
