A small river in Bavaria. Carsten calls it his “Bavarian Amazonas”.

Petra Offermanns (SUP-guide.com) and Etienne Stander (Munich Stand Up Paddling) went to paddle the tour Carsten Kurmis had showed them once more on a sunny October afternoon.

It was a 2.5 hour paddle through a wild, Amazonas-like scenery, before they reached Lake Starnberg and were greeted with a wonderful mountain view. They stayed there and enjoyed the view until sunset. The paddle back, this time with the current, was a relaxed 30min sunset paddle.

Equipment:

Etienne and Petra were wearing 3/2mm wetsuits and Booties, for the paddle out Etienne even took the wetuit top off, for the paddle back they brought softshell jackets. As there were no currents or wind, they paddeled without leash and vest (PFD).
